Welcome to Roots of Hope / Raíces de Esperanza, Alivio Medical Center’s Annual Gala.

Tonight, we come together to celebrate the deep roots that have sustained Alivio for nearly four decades—roots grounded in compassion, service, and the belief that quality healthcare should be accessible to everyone. We honor the visionary leaders, dedicated advocates, and community champions who have helped shape our organization and strengthen the communities we serve.

The theme Roots of Hope reflects the foundation upon which Alivio was built and the promise of what lies ahead. Like strong roots that nourish and sustain growth, our patients, staff, providers, supporters, and partners continue to inspire hope and create opportunities for healthier futures. Together, we are building a legacy that extends far beyond healthcare—one that uplifts families, empowers communities, and transforms lives.

As healthcare continues to evolve, so do the needs of our patients. Every day, Alivio remains committed to providing high-quality, culturally responsive care to those who need it most, regardless of their circumstances. We are proud to serve as a trusted healthcare home for thousands of individuals and families across Chicago, while continuing to expand access to primary care, specialty services, behavioral health, dental care, and community-based programs.

This evening is also an opportunity to recognize the extraordinary people whose leadership and service embody the spirit of our mission. Their dedication reminds us that meaningful change is possible when individuals and organizations come together in support of a common purpose.

Our progress would not be possible without the commitment of our Board of Directors, physicians, providers, nurses, staff, volunteers, community partners, and generous donors. Your support enables us to continue meeting the needs of our patients and investing in the health and well-being of our communities.

I would also like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to my family, whose love, encouragement, and steadfast support have made it possible for me to lead this remarkable organization.
